Our School Short Break

Today is the start of our school monthly short break ie for four days. The children will report back into hostel on saturday. This short break is necessary for our students. For the last four weeks they have crammed their brains with memorising the verses of the Al-Quran, ( 1-2 pages daily for the top students ). Besides that they do 5 academic subjects, 13 religious subjects plus 2 extra subject like tarranaum and khat. Then they also do co-curriculums ie, swimming, marching, archery and living skills.

All their activities even the rest (afternoon naps are all printed on their time table ). Each morning they wake up as early as 5 am ( on fridays 4.30 am )and lights off at 11 pm. Even their weekends are filled with activities. So you could see why they really need this 4 days break. You would think that with such pack schedule, they would run out of breath. You would be surprised that during their free time ie after 5.30 pm ( days where no specific co-co activities ), you would find them in the field playing football! One day Pak haji caught them playing football in the rain ( which Pak haji has specifically forbidden them ro do so ). So he punished them , they were suspended from playing fooball for 2 weeks! Hehe they were so upset!

At least Pak haji and I will be less hectic these 4 days. Our house will be quieter, but we will miss the beautiful sounds of Quran reading. Well, I also think our kind neighbours need a break too!

  2. busynya budak2 tu. Kalah boss besar yang kena kerja, attend meeting and buat report.
Tapi bagus jugak biar diorang biasakan diri busy macam tu. At least, bila dah kerja esok, tak lah diorang kena cultural shock kan.
Cuma, pengisian tu lain la bila kerja esok.. :)
