When you throw something into the air, it will eventually come down due to the law of gravity. However when prices keep spiralling upwards there is no law of gravity to pull it down. The result of such economic phenomena will be inflation. Then the bubble will burst, then there will be economic depression. I am not sure whether my theory is correct because I am not an economic professor. Simply to me the future looks rather gloomy!
Anyway to cushion us ( our school )from the rising prices, yesterday and the day before I went to the biggest stationary warehouse in Shah Alam to buy some 30 reams of A 4 papers, 1200 pieces of execise books, and some other stationaries. The salesgirl commented that I was doing a clever thing since she believed the price will definitely incresed by 40-50% come the 1st of July. I would have bought more items but that would tie down my capital and disturb my cashflow and the other problem would be storage.
The rise in prices of most goods is really hurting us. We are running our school based more on charitable consideration rather than a commercial one. As such we could not expect the parents to be burdened with increase in fees. At one point I thought that we might have to close the school. I was a bit depressed. Fortunately, with prayers and peservearence Allah SWT made it dawned upon me that if we are doing His job, help will come in many ways.
Insya-Allah we will plod on day by day to build this school to make it a success. May Allah allow this to happen. Ameen!
